Family Fun
Brief
The client had recently purchased a new build and with a growing family driving they were trapped indoors, they asked for an outdoor space for all the family to enjoy. They needed a seamless transition from their patio doors out into the garden to enable little feet to gain access. With a growing family the garden needed to tick a lot of boxes for both the children and adults.
Solution
The garden sloped towards the back and fell away sharply towards the house, the decision was made to create a series of terraces and defined play areas. The transitional zone from the patio doors was achieved with hardwood decking and this gave the client an area to relax whilst watching the children enjoying being outdoors.
Outcome
The family now have another room which caters for them all, the planting softens the garden structure and in time will create privacy. The terraces have broken up the sloping garden and created areas of interest and practicality, the large play area was filled with recycled rubber chippings and the children now have their own area whilst the adults can enjoy having friends and family over to enjoy social time on the hardwood decking area.
